Ashanti Douglas, popularly called Ashanti was was born in Glen Cove New York United States on 13th October 1980. She is a singer, songwriter from America and actor. Her talent was first noticed in her teens. She was signed to Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. Ashanti was featured in the Fat Joe's What's Luv? song that same year. The track "What's Love?" by Fat Joe and Ja Rule, entitled Always on Time was a huge hit for both of them. Her hits include Foolish (number 1) and How's Luv! The song is called What's Luv! Ashanti's debut single Foolish contains a cover of DeBarge's 1983 song Stay With Me. Ashanti made her debut album, titled "Ashanti", in 2002 under Irv Getti's Murder Inc. Record Label. The Declaration is her fourth studio album, was released in June of 2008. Hey Baby was released for radio and on digital platforms on 16 October 2009. She was as a character in the Christmas in the City film and also played Latasha in Army Wives. Her song Rock wit U was sampled by British artist Aitch to accompany his track Baby on the 10th of March 2022.
