Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American Actor, best known for his role as the star of the popular TV show 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. Meloni discovered his passion for acting in his early days at college and studied acting at The University of Colorado at Boulder. His characters in television are gaining him lots of recognition. The actor is able to play characters from both good and bad aspects of the legal system. He is able draw the attention of viewers effortlessly. He played the character of the serial killer on his first television project and then later played as an NYPD detective. He has been nominated multiple times for the highly coveted Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his tiny screen performances. He is famous by his blue piercing eyes that have been a signature and helped in portraying tough characters with a sense of humor. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
