Christopher Peter Meloni was an American actor who is known for playing in the well-known television series Law & Order Special Victims Unit'. His interest in acting began in his early college days. He completed his acting studies at University of Colorado at Boulder. He's appeared in TV and films, however the small screen characters which earned him fame and an extensive following. He's been able effortlessly play roles of characters who are from both sides of law, and captivate the viewers' focus. When he first appeared on television, for his debut production, he played a serial murderer. In later projects, he was the character of an NYPD detective. He has been nominated multiple times for the prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his small screen performances. He is famous for his blue piercing eyes, which have turned into a signature and helped portray tough characters with charisma. He was named in People's magazine's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
